New Cubs, New Names

Melbourne Zoo’s four Snow Leopard cubs finally have names - and our Zoos Victoria members made it happen!

Born to Miska and Kang Ju, the four cubs - Maya, Kira, Lumi and Sabu - have captured hearts as they begin venturing out of their den for the first time. Visitors are asked to keep noise low during this stage, as the cubs are still resting often between their playful outings.

A Very Special Giraffe Arrival

For the second time in almost 20 years, Melbourne Zoo is celebrating the birth of a giraffe calf. Born to mum Iris and dad Klintun, the new addition joins Tambi who was born in August last year.

The new arrival is also wonderful news for the herd’s social dynamic, with the herd's two mums supporting each other as they care for their calves, their little ones growing up together – learning, playing and exploring side by side.
