On this intimate walking tour, learn about the history and ever-evolving social dynamics of the elephant herd, bulls and our newest calf arrivals.

Start your journey at the old heritage elephant exhibit and hear the incredible story of Ranee - the first elephant to ever call Melbourne Zoo home. Before taking a stroll back-of-house to chat through different types of best practice enrichment and welfare standards such as choice and control.

Finally, stop a minute to view and hear each individual’s unique story of how they came to be part of the regional breeding program and the inspiring conservation ambassadors they are today.

Your participation will help contribute to Zoos Victoria's work to fight wildlife extinction.
