Travelling by car and parking
We have parking spaces available for our visitors. During peak times, like school and public holidays, we do our best try to get you parked and into the sanctuary as quickly as possible. Please follow instructions from our parking attendants when it's busy.
From Melbourne CBD
Healesville Sanctuary is located on Badger Creek Road, Healesville
Take the Eastern Freeway out of Melbourne, then drive east along Maroondah Highway through Ringwood and Lilydale to Healesville. Turn right into Badger Creek Road, just past the township centre. From there, road signs will guide you to Healesville Sanctuary.
From Melbourne Aiport (Tullamarine)
Take the Tullamarine Freeway (M2) and then take the first major exit on your left — the M80/Western Ring Road (Hume Freeway/Greensborough direction). Continue on the Ring Road to Greensborough and take the left exit onto the Greensborough Highway. Take the exit for Kangaroo Ground-Wattle Glen Road. Continue to the end, turn right and take the first left into Eltham-Yarra Glen Road. From there, follow road signs to Healesville Sanctuary.
Travelling by public transport
First, catch a train to Lilydale station. Then a bus will take you to Healesville Sanctuary.
Train to Lilydale
Catch a train from the Melbourne city centre to Lilydale, travelling on the Lilydale line.
Bus to Healesville
From Lilydale station, you need to catch bus 685 to Healesville Sanctuary.
